On 01/11/2025, at the Nesta Convention Center – Can Tho City, Thep Tay Do Co., Ltd. held a grand 30th Anniversary Ceremony (1995–2025) — a milestone recognizing three decades of formation, growth, and consolidation of its standing in Vietnam’s steel industry.
The ceremony welcomed leaders of Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSTEEL), representatives of the Vietnam Steel Association, partners and customers, as well as the staff of Thep Tay Do.
It was not only a moment to express gratitude to predecessors but also to demonstrate the team’s aspiration to advance into a new phase.
From the very first steps in 1995, Thep Tay Do was founded during Vietnam’s strong attraction of FDI, in line with the Government’s policy of international joint ventures in heavy industry. Initially, the company operated as a four-party joint venture including Vietnam Steel Corporation (VNSTEEL), Thep Viet Company, An Phu Company, and Ho Asia Group, becoming one of the early FDI flagships in the Southwest steel industry.
On that foundation, Thep Tay Do took the lead in the mission of building a solid steel industry in the Mekong Delta, contributing to the region’s infrastructure and economic development.
Throughout its development, in 2020 the Company made a pivotal turn. As shareholders divested, Mr. Huynh Trung Quang — a long-time companion of the company — acquired all shares and transitioned Thep Tay Do into a Single-member Limited Liability Company, marking self-reliance and opening a period of comprehensive restructuring and renewal in production, management, and market development.
With the orientation of “internal strength as the foundation for sustainable growth”, the Company invested over VND 800 billion to build a modern Steel Melting & Rolling Plant with capacity of >200,000 tons/year, meeting high quality standards and affirming its role as a core steel manufacturer of the Mekong Delta.
Thirty years have been a journey of will, aspiration, and faith — of people with a “steel spirit”, daring to think, to act, and to persevere for sustainable development.
At the ceremony, guests watched the documentary “30 nam Vung vang ban linh thep” and artistic performances such as “Cham vao vinh quang” and “Hanh trinh Thoi gian – Ban linh Thep Tay Do”, vividly portraying the pioneering stature of a steel enterprise in the Southwest.
At the event, Mr. Huynh Trung Quang — CEO of Thep Tay Do Co., Ltd. shared:
“ At the 30th Anniversary of Thep Tay Do with the theme ‘San sang cho ky nguyen moi’, we look back on a proud 30-year journey… Thirty — like the age of a person — is vigorous, resilient, and full of aspiration.”
“On behalf of over 500 employees, I extend our sincere gratitude to all delegates, partners, and customers… We pledge to strive harder and innovate so that Thep Tay Do grows stronger and reaches the world.”
In a solemn atmosphere, the Company’s Leadership presented flowers and commemorative badges to founders, past leaders, outstanding individuals & teams, and valued partners & customers.
The tribute to the “keepers of the flame” is not only thanks but a testament to the culture of attachment and unity shaping Thep Tay Do’s identity.
After the formalities came the “Tinh than thep – Vung buoc tuong lai” banquet-opening ritual, launching a new chapter. When the Leadership touched the Thep Tay Do emblem and the celebratory fireworks lit up, the moment symbolized pride, aspiration, and readiness.
The night was enlivened by singer Ngoc Anh — runner-up of Giong hat Sao Mai 2005 — with “Dieu tuyet voi” and “Lang nghe con tim”, and by Thai Thanh in “Nho mai chuyen di nay”, evoking heartfelt emotions across the hall.
Entering a new era, the Company remains committed to becoming a leading, modern, and sustainable steel producer in the region, with core values of quality — people — reputation. In line with the Government’s orientation for a fast and sustainable Vietnam, Thep Tay Do will continue technological innovation, productivity enhancement, and resource optimization to create real value for customers and the community.
