As Vietnam’s steel industry enters a phase of supply chain restructuring and enhanced domestic competitiveness, the meeting and working session between Southern Steel and Tay Do Steel Co., Ltd. on the morning of 12/05/2026 was a meaningful activity, seen as a signal that significant room for cooperation may open up in production, logistics, and market coordination for construction steel in the South.

Overview of the meeting between Southern Steel and Tay Do Steel
Within the framework of the working session, the two sides discussed many topics related to coordination models for processing or supply allocation among major steel enterprises that could become a notable trend in the near future, especially in the context of continuously fluctuating logistics and input material costs.
Topics of interest and discussion included: the possibility of coordinating production of construction steel grades CB3, CB4, sharing technical experience and controlling billet quality, coordinating supply in the Southern region, and optimizing logistics and warehousing operations
For Tay Do Steel, deeper participation in the steel industry value chain not only helps increase operating capacity but also opens opportunities to enhance its role in the Southwest market — a region assessed as having steadily growing demand for construction steel in recent years.

Mr. Le Viet - CEO of Southern Steel discusses the market and the trend of increasing value in the steel industry
Currently, Tay Do Steel is operating an integrated steelmaking and rolling system with large production capacity in the Southwest region, supplying a wide range of construction steel products for the civil, industrial, and infrastructure markets.
The company currently owns: a continuously operating billet production and steel rolling system, self-sufficient billet capacity expected to increase to about 300,000 tons/year, a development orientation for a plant project with a scale of 1 million tons/year, an import quota of about 180,000 tons of raw materials/year and a logistics system directly connected to the Mekong Delta region
In particular, the advantage of port infrastructure capable of receiving large-tonnage vessels is helping Tay Do Steel increase raw material autonomy, optimize transportation costs, and improve competitiveness amid continuously fluctuating logistics prices.

Tay Do Steel is increasingly enhancing its production and supply capacity
One of the highlights attracting attention during the working session was the expansion speed of Tay Do Steel in recent years.
According to the development orientation announced by the company:
This year’s revenue is expected to reach about 9,000 billion VND
Equity is recorded at about 1,400 billion VND
Credit limits from partner banks reach up to 3,000 billion VND
These figures show that the company’s financial capacity and long-term investment capability are being significantly strengthened, creating a foundation for plans to expand production and upgrade technology in the coming time.
Through the working session with Southern Steel, Tay Do Steel continues to present the image of an enterprise expanding in operational scale, financial capacity, and long-term development orientation.
The interest from leading enterprises not only reflects the potential of the Southwest market, but also shows the increasingly clear role of Tay Do Steel in the construction steel supply chain in the South.
With its current infrastructure foundation, capacity, and investment orientation, Tay Do Steel is gradually consolidating its position as one of the important steel production centers of the Mekong Delta region.
