The event was held as the two countries are moving toward the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations (24/06/1967 - 24/06/2027). In addition to goals of strengthening people-to-people exchanges and supporting social welfare, expanding economic cooperation and creating favorable conditions for businesses of both countries to boost investment and trade were identified as among the top key priorities.
In 2025, bilateral trade turnover reached USD 11 billion, approaching the USD 20 billion target committed to by the leaders of the two countries. At present, Vietnam is Cambodia’s third-largest trading partner, with many direct investment projects and total registered capital reaching USD 2.95 billion.
At the official session of the conference, Tay Do Steel was proud to be one of the representatives of the Vietnamese delegation (under the Vietnam–Cambodia Business Club). Here, Mr. Huynh Trung Quang delivered a presentation with many practical proposals on results and solutions to strengthen investment and trade cooperation connectivity between the two countries:
"Tay Do Steel identifies Cambodia as a long-term strategic market. Through cooperation in exporting steel billets and sustainable partnerships with major Cambodian corporations such as Chip Mong Group, we believe that the bond between businesses of the two countries not only creates economic value but also helps strengthen the increasingly close Vietnam–Cambodia friendship."
The company’s analyses and proposals were highly appreciated, helping open new directions for increasing supply chain value and expanding cross-border markets.
This active participation is fully consistent with the vision of Tay Do Steel: To become a leading steel enterprise in Vietnam and reach the regional level. In particular, this bond is even closer as the company’s General Director, Mr. Huynh Trung Quang, is currently serving as a Member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam - Cambodia Friendship Association. This demonstrates the company’s commitment to sustainable development, harmoniously combining business activities with the responsibility of building international friendship.
