From reddish-brown ore at borderland mines, through blazing blast furnaces and ringing hammers, to steel girders stretching across bridges, factories, and skyscrapers—Vietnam’s steel industry has journeyed through constant making and growth. But to go farther and stand firmer, every “link” of the steel value chain must be joined.
On 8/8/2025, at Công ty TNHH Thép Tây Đô, the space seemed to light up with the convergence of footsteps from all three regions of the country. More than 120 delegates gathered to share stories, exchange experience, and seek a common direction. This was not only a get-together, but a strategic steel industry networking program where enterprises connected resources, understood each other’s needs, and opened new avenues for cooperation.
At the networking session, Nghiêm Xuân Đa – Chairman of the Hiệp hội Thép Việt Nam – shared:
“I highly appreciate the idea and efforts of Thép Tây Đô in successfully organizing an event that gathers enterprises from North to South. This is a chance for us to connect, look for cooperation opportunities, and grow together.”
He also affirmed that the Hiệp hội Thép Việt Nam will continue to accompany and support member units. When all members of the industry open up, share, and find common ground, the Vietnamese steel industry will remove barriers and build strong bridges of cooperation.
Representing the host unit, Huỳnh Trung Quang, General Director of Thép Tây Đô, emphasized:
“The greatest value of today’s networking is not only in handshakes or signed documents, but in the open spirit, sharing, and jointly shaping a common development corridor for steel enterprises.”
Participating enterprises agreed this was a rare occasion for production, trade, and logistics to sit together, exchange practical experience, and seek optimal solutions for the steel supply chain.
Delegates directly observed the green steel production process at Thép Tây Đô: from scrap collection, steelmaking, rolling finished products to quality control. The modern line turns scrap steel into high-quality products, sending a strong message of circular green production and recycling.
At the Plant campus, leaders of the Steel Association – Tổng công ty Thép Việt Nam and participating enterprises planted commemorative trees, hung nameplates, and tended the soil and water. This is a pledge to nurture long-term cooperation—sustainable like the very trees that will grow.
In an open setting, delegate groups continuously discussed raw-material supply, linked transport products, and expanding steel export channels. Many bilateral and multilateral cooperation ideas were formed right at the event.
The networking program continued with a trip to Đồng Tháp and TP.HCM of participating delegates—both to experience river-culture life and to explore the market of a dynamic city, expanding personal and business networks in the steel industry.
From glowing red steel bars on the line, and green saplings on campus, to cooperative handshakes, all together forged a solid network of connections for Vietnam’s steel industry.
The event concluded, yet the spirit of cooperation and innovation continues to spread—opening opportunities for Vietnam’s steel industry enterprises to enter a phase of stronger, more sustainable development and deeper integration with domestic, regional, and global markets.
